my color is very close to my natural color - I'm so happyIf you are a true red head, starting to see gray, eSalon is fabulous. My own hair stylist, who is a "color specialist" consistently tells me excuses like: "Red fades fast; Red hair is difficult to work with; if you try to add highlights and low lights you'll risk looking like a peacock." She turned me into a beautiful medium blond, with a mix of honey and caramel highlights and low lights. Which was fun once. Every time I passed by the mirror I had to take a 2nd glance; "who was that girl?" and my husband was mad; "where's my red head?" "Don't ever go back to her!" "Will your red hair grow back in?" Luckily, it did, I didn't have a lot of gray back then. Next time she tried red's and coppers - she made a big line on my head. Everyone asked me if I colored my hair my hair myself and offered their hair specialist's card. I returned to the shop to get it fixed, my stylist asked another color specialist to work with me instead. She turned my hair dark mahogany. My hair matched my dining room table; terrible. To dark for my freckley, fair skinned complexion. My light blond eyebrows and eyelashes made me look scary without makeup. who wears makeup at home; come on! So, I tried several other salon's. Everyone turned me into bozo the clown, bright orange, red. I was disappointed, over and over. No-one could match my natural hair color. It did not matter how much I spent. I was desperate, I started using box colors, struggling, same as the color specialists; at least I wasn't paying $150 to $300 for each mistake. My husband, came home one day with a note: Try eSalon.com - a customer recommended to him; for me. That was in 2013. The color specialists adjusted the color till we finally got it right I'm adding an update - it's year 2020 - Since then I've also added the natural blond highlights (automatic delivery with every 3rd color) - I continue to get compliments about my hair color. Sold on this product!The color is great and it doesn't fade! It's every bit as good as what I get in a salon and much better than the store bought brand I had been using. I highly recommend this product. Update: it seems like the recent change in the formula fades more at the roots. I like the creamier consistency of the new formula better and I like the color, but I think I notice fading. And I only wash my hair 1 to 2 times per week. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Great customer service - color runs dark and smell is a bit strongThe package and instructions were clear and not hard to do. The smell of the product is strong and color is almost black instead of a rich brown . Great productLoved it, met my needs and more. Was hesitant about ordering it, but really pleased I did. So pleased the easy to follow detailed instructions and well fitting gloves. Can’t believe I did it myself!!Ok so Covid closed my salon☹️ And I took the leap of touching up my color after much research including You Tube! Did the strand test—seemed perfect! Was concerned I would damage my hair/highlights. Followed directions given, still apprehensive. Amazing outcome! Frankly I like it better than what I get in the salon!! Love the color!I can truly tell the difference between a box color and eSalon. Normally the box colors tend to look darker than what it should be, but eSalon come out like it should be. The fact that it was personalized just for my tones makes it look so natural. My order was for my roots only, but my ends were looking a little orangey which I just do not like so the last 5 minutes I had enough color to put it through my ends, and it came out so good.
