It last longer than hair color I've bought at Walmart but still can't get it to be at true light brown. It always starts out darker and then fades to a color I like after a couple of weeks.
I spent a few months requesting changes to my hair colour shade, which eSalon kindly made each time until I got the exact shade I wanted. It's perfect now and I love it. Can't recommend it strongly enough!
The correct shade of red for me is not easy to obtain. The process that you are walked thru online made for an excellent result. The color also seems to have lasted longer than the box from the store.
This time the color coverage was better...... Darker red than I thought, but I like it... Guessing going from a blonde for years to a redhead will take some adjustments.....
I am now 4 weeks post-color application and there is NO evidence of roots. I am blown away by the color match. I DO have a few gray hairs peeking through so my only complaint is that they broke through about week 2 and I would love to improve on that,but otherwise definitely exceeded my expectations.
The adjusted color captured what I desired for the outcome. The one negative is the directions. It needs to be rewritten so it doesn't sound like a scolding on following the process on how to color. Overall satisfied customer.
I got my first box of made for me color. First, the presentation was fantastic. Directions were easy to follow, albeit a bit daunting because my first color required one bottle for root application and one for ends. Total time from start to finish took me a little over an hour. I asked for some tweaks on the color as the roots were lighter than I wanted and more orangey tone. Also could tell where the bulk of my grey was. The colorist responded that they'd tweaked my next formula to make it darker and with a different tone and more grey coverage. What I CAN say is almost a month later the color is still there. It has not faded out as the box dyes ALL did for me.
Time will tell with my next formulation bit for now I'm a happy customer. Much more cost effective than a salon visit every 4-6 weeks. 😊
My grays were covered thoroughly and lasted until my hair grew out. The color was just watt wanted and it lightened just a enough to let the sun reflect off my hair.
I love the color, the only problem I keep having is it fades pretty quickly. My colorist has been working with me on each new order to adjust. The product is of good quality, and the instructions are very easy to follow. Very happy with the decision to go with esalon.
I have had my hair colored at salons before and after 3-4 weeks it starts to fade and turn grey again. But with e-salon my hair still has its beautiful color after at least 6 weeks and is still shinny and sleak. I love e-salon and would recommend to everyone.
The color was a little darker this time and tends to be more brassier than I like it but I did get my highlights in good this time so it does lightness some. I don't so much want to go blonde because I've never been a strawberry blonde ... Its great, just never paid 25.00 for one-time color use. On my budget, its a wee bit high.
I love that there was separate color for roots, however it didn't cover my grey very well and roots were lighter than rest of hair. The rest of my hair looks great though. Color is nice a warm and shiny
After having a bad experience with expensive salon color, I decided to try eSalon. The price was good and I liked that it ships directly to your home. I filled out all the questions for my first order and waited for it to arrive. It was packaged well and instructions were simple. The color was very good, no harsh smell. The color was rich and provided even coverage. The price is fair although it has gone up to $24.95 this month and I'm not sure why. Not sure if I want to continue at that price. The only con is that the color seems to fade rather quickly, even using color-safe shampoo. I would, however, recommend giving this product a try. I am happy with my purchase and am on my third consecutive order.
Loved the 2nd round eSalon made for me as far as color. Can't get past the fumes though. And the shine did not seem to last past 3. I use quality shampoo.
I am 65, have been coloring my hair since I was 16. This color doesn't fade, is easy to apply, better than any drug store products. I wish there was a way I could get 25% more product with each application. I have thick hair, and run out of product half way thru the back of my head.

I do love the quality of your hair dye. What's frustrating is that you don't send what we order! The color always comes out too dark! My medium brown comes out like black.
This product seems to be a professional level product for the public to use. Drug store hair color products did nothing for my gray except tint it yellow. This is the ONLY hair coloring that completely covers all my gray hair. However, since it's a liquid, it's very messy to use. In the directions, if you're still stating for the last step, to get into the shower to rinse the dye off, then I still think you're wrong in your instruction. I wouldn't want to turn around only to discover that the back of my body is also dyed brown.
I have been using this hair colour for about a year now and it is the only one that covers grey completely. It is possible to adjust the colour if you fancy a change and the results are really good.
My only concern is that using the colour is quite messy and even though I cover as much as I can in the bathroom I still end up with splashes everywhere.

The only improvement I would suggest is a slightly bigger bottle. I sometimes run out of dye.
I love the product; esalon colorists have matched my "before-gray" beautifully. But the instructions leave a lot to be desired. No reason is given for different instructions--apparently I'm supposed to spend $20 to color just my roots, now that I've been using esalon for a year. It would be nice if the instructions came with a paragraph explaining the changes.

I never have the brassy, dark color I would get from drugstore brands.
My first delivery was too dark so I contacted esalon to adjust the formula. The first adjustment still had a little too much brown and purple. My second request has given me the perfect balance of red and brown for a great auburn color!

I really like my color and it is easy to change when I want a bit more red or want to go more brunette. My only complaint is that it is so difficult to get off of the scalp. I scrub and scrub in an effort to remove it. After a week or so, I finally feel that it is completely clean.

I am not a hair person! I just don't know how to do all that stuff but I'm telling you this was almost as easy as washing your hair, the results though were well beyond what I had ever expected, my Daughter who does know what she's doing had dyed my hair red I didn't want to do the upkeep of it so wanted to go back brown, well I've done this before at the salon and it's never easy because they can't take you from red back to brown in one process. Well shame on them because eSalon took me there no problem! I have a lot of grey now that I did not have then as well. I recommend this very much. What a fantastic product and experience!

I loved the color initially. It was even looking and the perfect copper color. but after two weeks it’s brown again and my grow out still didn’t hold the dye so it’s also visible like it was prior. It just looks like it completely washed out and is back to the way it looked before I dyed it.

After the first kit I ordered didn't cover my greys (less than 20% of my hair so not a lot of grey to cover) they sent me another kit with a different formula for the roots and the lengths. However as there were different amounts of developer, the sun has lightened the top of my hair differently to the lengths and I now have a visible tide mark around the top of my head. It is too soon to dye my hair all over again so I'm using temporary gloss to try and blend it and then will likely have to go to a salon. I contacted the support team for advice on how to fix it and they didn't even respond. I have cancelled and would advise others to proceed with caution. I will say though I loved the colour both times I've used it although it didn't cover my fine greys at my temples either time.

The hair dye covered my grey hairs well and evenly so coverage is good. However, I am very cool toned and ordered ‘Ash’ brown. I was expecting a shade of brown that was ashy (bear in mind my own hair tone has no warmth at all so didn’t warm up the colour in any way). My hair turned out super auburn/orangey which is not at all what I hoped for so overall, I am disappointed

I’m a seasoned eSalon customer at this point with 25 color orders. I’m starting to doubt that any shade of blonde they send will ever turn out anything other than orange. Which make sense because every picture of a blonde on the website is the same orangey hue. I just want a cool tone, and adjustment after adjustment I just can’t get it with esalon. Probably great for anything other than blonde, but I’m about to give up and go back to paying hundreds. I’m giving one more adjustment a try and if it doesn’t turn out, as usual, I’m done. This has been so disappointing.

I have been very pleased with all kits except the most recent shipment. The color kept fizzing over. The lotions remained a dark brown, before applying my roots. It did not look the normal shade. Once applied, the color did not cover well at all. I read instructions as usual & proceeded to color my roots as soon as I mixed the solutions. I loved how easy it was to mix the color but it was the wrong color. My hair is dark brown/black and the color was more of a milk chocolate. It also didn't cover a lot of the gray. Second shipment, the color was darker but not dark enough and again had the same issues with the grays. I sent my third shipment back and waiting on my refund.

I’m at a loss. I was very specific and what I said my problems were. I was very hopeful. Once again, yes, the brown and the light and brown from the sun came out a beautiful, dark, medium hash brown any hairs that were white, even softened beforehand and developer applied beforehand to open the pores and left it. Sit on longer as instructed for the white hair. Yep red! 👎I’d like my money back, but I’m certainly not getting any more.

Please don’t waste your money. This is probably one of the worst hair dyes I’ve used. The bottles aren’t big enough to do your full head, the dye itself sets on your hair so it’s impossible to massage/ distribute evenly through the hair.

Wrong color and they didn't fix it

It was not the right color and I asked for it to be redone and they said they would but never sent it and are now sending another order of the wrong color and charging me.

I didn't like the color but have worked with the color specialist to get a different color blend. I will update after the new color arrives.

I am absolutely appalled by this dye! My ‘medium ash brown’ dye turned black, I’ve washed my hair 6 times in an attempt to fade it and now it is patchy and has chunks of black and chunks of a reddish brown. I’ve been home dying my hair for years and this is the worst dye I have ever used and will need a professional to sort!
