I colored at home during Covid and cringe at the pictures from that time. It wasn't good. So, of course, after Covid i went back to the salon. I loved the colorist and the result, alas, then she left the salon. I was assigned a new colorist who made my hair look like the old "frost and tip" color. It was ridiculous. I paid $250 before tip. I tried so many colorists and it was never to my liking. So I researched and researched and found that eSalon it absolutely at the forefront of home haircoloring. I figured I'd give it a go. Boy am I glad I did. I sent pictures and told them what I wanted the end result to be and my hair came out absolutely stunning. I am so pleased. I have not used the mask yet, but I will in about a week. I loved the packaging of the set, the easy directions and the lack of ammonia smell. It was easy to apply. I used the timer included and all of the gloves. Three sets of gloves are needed and they only give you two. Also, I didn't think about adding hot water to the left over dye to massage through your hair after the color is processed. It was quite a shock with the ice cold water over my head in the shower. Lesson learned. Also, be careful when rinsing in the shower because my tile floor became very slippery. Follow the directions, learn from my mistakes and enjoy finding that you don't need to spend $300 on color anymore!
The color was perfect, application wasn't complicated. I did have a bottle of color explode all over the room. I would have loved a heads up. DO NOT put the little cap back on the bottles between your test strand and full application. The chemicals cause the bottle to swell and if that cap is on, you will be scraping color off your ceiling with a spatula. Other than that, experience was great.
The color was darker than I expected but it turned out great. Just took a little getting used to. The process was relatively easy. I was able to complete myself.
The kit and instructions where laid out well and very easy to follow, however the colour was darker than I thought and also a little flat, the toner and highlights would have benefited, also my ends have been breaking, I assume down to the ammonia
I do like this product, but I make such a mess that I find it difficult to color the back of my hair, so I am back at the salon again. I will probably use it again, but I think it just takes practise.
The product is great but I have super think and long hair so I ran out of the ends bottle before I had my hair completely covered and had to use the roots color to try and finish making it a little off.
I absolutely love my most recent colour. The colour mix I usually get is red copper, and my natural colour is a medium to dark brown hair. I had about two tweaks to the colour in the beginning of my colour journey with eSalon, but eventually found my colour and have continued to repurchase it because it's my signature colour now and I absolutely love it. 🥰
Love the color and the content. It might be interesting to ask if you need the "extras", gloves, etc. in each order. I have too many glove and stain guard & remover. I'd be glad to not receive them until I need them.
When I received my product the bottle was not sealed correctly and most of the all over leaked out. I need a new hair color kit sent out for free. I am so disappointed.
When I saw this color powder for my hair( medium auburn) there is no auburn it’s only brown. I’m very unhappy with this product It’s Brown but says auburn.

As a customer for over 10 years, it almost goes without saying that I love this product. The color itself is great and long-lasting. I get compliments all the time... mostly at my hair salon! The customizing of the color is a great process with outstanding results. Here's where stuff gets maddening. Several years back, someone (I assume a bald man) changed the packaging and I have been scratching my head ever since. Least offensive; though still bad; was the overall design (colors, graphics) going from punchy to pale, boring, unimpactful pink and purple. Yawn. The real problem is that the bottles and their caps/lips/openings are simply stupid. If one were instructed to pour the contents from bottle 1 into bottle 2, then one might assume that the opening on bottle 2 would be larger to accommodate that operation. Nope! You are pouring from a large opening into a smaller opening. The nozzle on the applicator bottle is also woefully small. Finally the shampoo and conditioner packets, if you can get them open at all, provide a hole the size of a pinhead through which to squeeze the product. As good as the products themselves are, it is clear that the people making packaging decisions have never used any of them. I would love to have a meeting with the team responsible for this because the bad choices are just silly and easily correctable.
I did really like the color, but not so much my husband, so I have not done any touch ups or any of it. Actually i bought another kit at drugstore to go back to my brown hair
Can I send back the 2 packages that u sent me? They r not opened, I just hate to see that go to waste?
I’ve been using eSalon for YEARS now, occasionally altering the color just a bit depending on the season! My only gripe is that as my hair has gotten longer, one kit is not quite enough for a root to end application. Can we get an extra large amount? That would be great! Thanks!
The product is good it evened and covered the grey's but it wasn't the lovely copper I thought I'd ordered and was definitely less vibrant which is a shame as if it had been more copper it would have been perfect
I followed the instructions to the letter ensuring that I used it as a root touch up rather than all over but it came out so dark. Also I asked for ash and it’s very red. Guess there’s no substitute for a stylist who can physically see your hair. Currently using specialist shampoo in an attempt to lighten it.
Always the same, do not ever use any other shampoo or conditioner. However the dispenser lid came broken, and I have lost about 1/2 bottle of shampoo. It runs out, and makes a mess on floor of shower and is slippery. I, instead use the classic shampoo single use that comes in the custom color set. if you could just replace the dispenser rocker top, it would sure be helpful. As with many others, after I dye my hair and shampoo it, it comes out shiney silky and golden. Do not want to pay so much for a broken shampoo dispenser lid.
I’d been showing silvery roots for a couple of years and finally sought help with E Salon who had been highly recommended. I wanted to get back to my dark brown original color, but was advised by ES counselor thru email to go in steps.. So, this third order has been the darkest and Bingo!,…, I was there! But…, I had just started using shampoo, conditioner & serum, from Life Vantage for fuller hair, 3 weeks prior. KTwo days after coloring my hair and being so excited for the dark brown, I washed my hair & conditioned, which washed 40% of the color out! That had not been the case after the last color treatment, using my previous shampoo and conditioner. Maybe I needed it to let color sit for more days or maybe it’s the ingredients in the Hair thickening shampoo & conditioner recipe. I like both products, but if it’s at the expense of taking my desired hair color out, I prefer to refrain from the thickening shampoo & conditioner! I appreciate the support & quality of E Salon color.
I was amazed with my very first application. My color was perfect, and it covered my gray completely.
My second application was not as good. All instructions were followed to a tee. I noticed that my gray was still showing, I must admit that I didn't color my hair right after receiving my new kit. I was away, and applied it 2 weeks after receiving it. I love the color, but the coverage just didn't cut it this time.
Trying to cover varied gray/whites to favorite shade of childhood as my dad was a ruddy redhead and mom was brunette. As older child, I had light brown w. auburn highlights..... my brother got the red hair!

I love the color! It's perfect. However, there are still greys that didnt color completely. So im afraid ill have to go buy some dye and I wont be able to match this color, which I love, but Im thinking I may just have to re-dye it. I dont want to re-dye it i truly love this color!!
Amazing colour, easy to use. Great step by step guide. The only downside for me and I am being PICKY is the colours are just not quite bright enough for me but still love it!
I have a confession to make. I thought I would try L’Oréal Paris Colorsonic and put my eSalon order on hold for a few months. Big Mistake! Colorsonic was messy and the two closest color choices were either too dark or too light. I’ve been a a member of eSalon since 2012. I missed the control and the color specially formulated for me. I’m a SUPER FAN and love getting back to “my” color!!!!!
i have been a client of esalon.com for many, many years and have gone through numerous changes...i like this product, i like the way my hair feels after coloring, i like the outcome...what i don't like is that there is no option to either "pause" orders (there used to be) or even cancel...as i am now older, i want my grey to come through, but apparently esalon now traps you into a lifelong commitment, perhaps even intending to send product after death...customers have a right to easily leave subscriptions...esalon does not seem to think so
Very nice to work with this company. My updated color was better. Still not sure if it may need another adjustment. The product has an odor which is not intense, but stronger than I would like. Gray coverage is not great.

I love the color and all the additional features that are included. But, please, don't send three gloves inside of the fourth. I wasn't able to just put them on as quickly as usual. I had to work to get the fingers pulled out. I put them on twice and had to take them off to adjust the fingers.
I've really enjoyed the Esalon hair color kit and have told friends about it. The color is very rich and flattering (Deep chestnut with red overtones) and the price cannot be beat. The only thing I would change is the amount sent. I find I'm only using about 1/3 of the bottle on my entire head. I don't like having to dump that much chemically-treated liquid into the trash.
Product came quick and was simple to use but the color is lighter and got a tint of red to it and my hair is actually brownish black. That could been my fault for not picking the right color.
The custom color adjustment intends to cover better the grey line, but it still shows grey using this adjusted mix. That part of it, I am not pleased. However, I am pleased with the hair color dye overall result which didn’t make my hair look too dark. My hair did not feel dry using this mix.
I had to test if it would stain my bath and it didn’t my hair looks and feels amazing. The only downside is my front roots are a copper colour I like the colour but not the best when I wanted red
When my hair started turning white I could not get any color to hold. So I unhappily had to live with it.

I expected the color to be just a little less red based on the picture of colors. But I love the coverage. It was easier than I expected to color my hair even though I had colored my hair in 2016/2017. Having the blue clips made it easier than using claws to hold my hair. I think I'd like my hair to more copper than red.
Color has red overtones and does not color temple roots and immediate areas. Color was placed first on the temple area roots with maximum time to let the color work. Two applications in 12 weeks. Used a generous amount both times.
Good color revive for me. I was disappointed that the kit did not contain the “bonus” free 2nd bottle of color for ends. Perhaps because I added a conditioner to my order which fit in the box, the free bottle was not enclosed. Could you please send the refresher kit?
I'm sorry to say I have to unsubscribe. I absolutely loved the colour combinations the colour was perfectly made. The bad news is I have a terrible itchy scalp and rashes all around the hairline I'm obviously have, had an allergy from the product.
I sent a commentary to your rapport people over a week ago but did not receive a response. I was horrified to find my hair a beige after colouring out. I was looking for platinum blond and the removal of the yellow in my colour. While I understand how my request to remove the yellow may have led to ‘ash’ and or ‘pearl’ I did not anticipate the beige/blue I got. I was looking for a reversal method but I have since gone to the drug store to get my own as there was no support from you.
I request a refund for this colour as it was not what I expected and I have been a long time customer.
I love the color, the customization and the way my hair feels after I’ve colored it. But my highlights were a disaster and I had to go to my stylist to recolor my hair after it turned my hair a bright orange! She said that even she was unable to highlight her own hair. You really need a specialist because without using foil it’s very difficult to limit the spread of the highlights. Also it’s impossible to see the back of your head. The highlighter also turned my hair a bright orange (with dark brown hair) even though I didn’t leave it quite as long g as recommended. Won’t be trying that again!
Love the product because it meets all the requirement of not being tested on animals and is vegan. Unfortunately, with the tariff wars between U.S. and Canada I can no longer buy U.S. made goods. I have to look elsewhere or buy Canadian made to support my country.
The color is too dark, more brown than red. I prefer an Auburn. It is hard to determine colors on the internet so no faults. I was hoping by the picture I sent it would have given a clearer idea as to the color I was looking for.
I pay for my color on the 3rd and I'm still sitting here waiting on my shipment of hair color why does it take so long to ship I'm discouraged by the time I get it I've got a skunk strip down the middle of my hair and the color doesn't take as well if it had been earlier than almost weeks after I pay for it tired of waiting may find another way this is ridiculous
For years I have tried to cover my gray hair and maintain my natural hair color. Professional salons as well as most retail brands have not worked for me. The color of my hair always had tints of red or green and only lasted about two weeks, when my gray roots began to show. Rarely has it looked professional. I have now used eSalon for 10 months. After the first month, I talked with a color stylist about my concerns about coverage and the darkness of the color. The next month, called again, it was too light. I was sent, free of charge, a new color kit. Now after 20 years of searching, I finally have the perfect color, texture, and condition. My hair color lasts longer(due to the rich pigment in my blend). My hair has depth with various tones shining through. I am in awe of your products. I will always be an eSalon customer!

Now, I'm exclusively using Esalon products for my hair, and I can confidently say I’ll never go back! 💖 Seriously, I’m all in!
I had a problem with my shipping and I didn’t get my first order but they made it right and replaced it and the colour is beautiful. I ordered it again, so I’m gonna give it a go

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they don't send me quite enough color to cover my hair even tho I have expressed this many times to my color care specialist(s).

I love the color! However, even after following all your instructions and using your provided shampoo and conditioner, my hair was very dry and had a lot of split ends after coloring. I would love if a “extra conditioning” conditioner was included.
The first couple of shipments were not quite the color I wanted and did not stay to continue to cover the gray. My last shipment was the perfect color and, so far, is staying on my grays!
