Each year, Allure magazine tests and rates top beauty products around the world, voting which product is the absolute best in its category—it’s basically the Oscars of the beauty world. First, the editors at Allure try every single product submitted and it goes through rigorous testing and cross-comparison. “I don’t think people truly understand how long we try each product,” Editor in Chief Michelle Lee comments. And what’s impressive is not just how long they try each product, but also how many. This year 9,087 brands submitted in an effort to be named a Best of Beauty winner, making it the most competitive year yet. Still, our Color Set made it first place.

It’s easy. Simply fill out a five-minute profile to get started, telling us all about your hair history and ultimate color goal. (Bonus points if you upload a pic.) Then, you’ll be assigned to your personal colorist who will get started right away on customizing your hair color. After that, it’s all downhill from there—with your custom color shipping just 2-3 days after you place an order.
